1. When will the course close and reopen?
The golf course will officially close on June 15, 2026. We expect the conversion to take 8 to 10 weeks, with a target reopening in late August. Because this project relies on specific temperatures for the new surfaces to establish, the exact reopening date will depend on weather conditions.
2. Why is the course closing during the summer?
Summer is the optimal growing season for ultradwarf bermudagrass. By planting in June, we take advantage of the heat to ensure the greens are strong, healthy and ready for championship-level play when we reopen.
3. Will the Driving Range remain open?
Yes. For most of the project, golf operations — including the driving range, club fitting, equipment repair and the golf shop — will continue as normal.
Note: The driving range will close for a brief two-week period (dates TBD) to complete necessary turf repairs in high-use landing areas.
4. What happens to my Package Plan?
All Package Plan holders (Strutting Wolf, Student, Faculty/Staff) active as of the June 15 closure will have their plans automatically extended for the full duration of the closure. You will not lose any value.
5. I’m a Charter Partner or Champions Club Cardholder. What are my options?
Charter Partners and Champions Club Cardholders will receive a direct email outlining specific options and credits related to their next renewal cycle. We are committed to taking care of our most loyal supporters during this transition.
6. Will the Terrace Restaurant be open?
The Terrace Restaurant will close alongside the golf course on June 15 and is expected to reopen in late August. This timing allows for deep cleaning and preparation ahead of the fall season.
7. Can I still take lessons or get fitted for clubs?
Yes. All instructional programs, player development offerings and professional club fitting services will continue on their normal schedules throughout the summer.
8. Will youth programs still run?
Yes. The Lonnie Poole Little League, summer camps and junior clinics will all proceed as scheduled. Our commitment to growing the game remains unchanged.
9. What about Golf & Grape and other clinics?
All social and instructional programs — including Golf & Grape and adult clinics — will continue as normal throughout the summer.
10. Will there be Demo Days or equipment events this summer?
Yes. We are planning several Demo Days and manufacturer events during the closure. This is a great opportunity to test the latest equipment and upgrade your bag ahead of reopening.
11. Can I still book a meeting or special event in the clubhouse?
Yes. While daily dining will be paused, clubhouse event spaces will remain available for private events, corporate meetings and special occasions. Please contact the main office for availability and catering options.
12. Still have questions?
Please contact the Lonnie Poole Golf Course team for additional information regarding the greens conversion project.
